The Fish Kitchen is now running Boat trips followed by dinner at the Fish Kitchen as an all inclusive package.
A boat trip around Bantry Bay showing visitors where the Mussels are grown, Scallops are fished and the Prawns potted is part of the experience. When in season we might drop a line to catch a mackerel.
Theres plenty of wildlife to be seen including the Seals in Glengarriff harbour, the Sea Eagles on Garnish Island, and Dolphins that frequent the Bay. With a little history thrown in for good measure this is a great adventure.
Your skipper and restaurant host, Diarmaid, is a qualified marine biologist and a coxwain in the local life boat and will give you great insight into Bantry Bay. Once ashore you will then head to the Fish Kitchen for a prebooked lunch or dinner to taste the bounty of Bantry Bay.
The boat is Halmatic 22 commercial RIB(Rigid Inflatable Boat). It’s an ex special forces naval rib converted in to a passenger boat. It’s an excellent boat in all conditions and can seat a maximum of 6 passengers. Unfortunately it’s not suitable for small children or people with mobility difficulties.
The trip lasts about an hour(on the water), safety gear and weather gear is provided.
The Trips are Summer Season only and Weather Dependant.
